Called Sun Partners in Notes (SPIN), the comprehensive program will target global resellers and integrators and will launch with the availability of Lotus Notes on Solaris 2. Charter members will include Access Graphics, EDS and Merisel. One Lotus Notes server license for Notes Release 3.2 for the Sun Solaris environment, and a choice of one Notes client for either the Microsoft Windows or Sun Solaris environment will be bundled with all Sun SPARCserver systems shipped through authorized direct and indirect channels worldwide beginning January 1, 1995, and ending December 31, 1995. A new Notes-based application, being designed by Sun, will also be included and will help users with the implementation of Notes on SPARC servers. Customers can take advantage of Notes' workgroup and application development capabilities on all Sun SPARC-based servers, ranging from the low-cost SPARCclassic(TM) server to the industry's most powerful and expandable high-end UNIX(R) server, the SPARCcenter(TM) 2000 data center server. To allow resellers, developers and integrators to benefit from Sun's worldwide Notes' end-user marketing campaigns, Sun's newly announced SPIN program will offer training, joint sales and marketing, worldwide symposiums, promotions and relationship activities. Program participants must be Sun Authorized and Lotus Notes-certified.
