The significant changes to SunSolve include enhanced searching and more technical knowledge areas like SMI Product Information and Solaris on Intel (x86). As in all CD-ROM releases, all of the technical information has been updated. The most significant changes to Sun HelpDesk Tools include all of the SunSolve enhancements plus the release of Sun CallTracker 3.0. A+Edition is an unbundled systems software product that runs on top of Solaris 2.3. o A+Edition 1.0 is an extension to Solaris 2.3 for SPARCserver 1000 and SPARCcenter 2000 customers o A+Edition provides increased performance for heavily loaded multiuser applications o A+Edition offers security and serviceability enhancements ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 70.21 SunExpress to Offer Amdahl's Performance Management Tools SunExpress, the direct marketing subsidiary of Sun Microsystems, Inc., and Amdahl Corporation announced at UNIX Expo a marketing and distribution agreement that will allow SunExpress to offer Amdahl's standards-based performance management tools for distributed servers in an enterprise. This agreement will broaden Amdahl's reach into Sun Microsystems' installed base. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 70.22 SunSoft Software Development Tools Sun Microsystems Computer Company (SMCC) announces new and enhanced software development products for the Solaris(R) 1 (SunOS(TM) 4.1.3 or later release) and Solaris 2.2 or later operating environments. Industry-leading product features first announced for Solaris 2 in January 1994, will now be available for Solaris 1. Major enhancements have been made to SPARCworks(TM)/iMPact(TM) multithreaded development tools. Enhanced versions of the SunSoft WorkShop(TM), SPARCworks development tools, and SPARCompiler(TM) language systems for C, C++, FORTRAN, Pascal, and featuring productivity and performance improvements over previous releases are also available. In addition, two new products are availabale - SunSoft WorkShop for Ada and Tools.h++ source code. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 70.23 SunExpress to put Catalog on Internet SunExpress, Inc., the direct marketing subsidiary of Sun Microsystems, Inc., announced at UNIX Expo that it will put its comprehensive catalog on the Internet. For the first time, Internet users will be allowed immediate access through the World-Wide Web to the industry's most complete information resource on SPARC, Solaris and Sun-ready aftermarket products for enterprise computing. Visitors to the Internet Village at UNIX Expo, booth #2354, received a sneak preview of SunExpress On The Internet. http://www.sun.com/sunexpress/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 70.24 SunExpress to Improve Delivery Service in Europe SunExpress, Inc., the direct marketing subsidiary of Sun Microsystems, Inc., will provide a faster, more efficient delivery service to its European customers, following the opening of a Dutch warehouse in September 1994. The warehouse will serve SunExpress' entire European customer base and house a range of Sun Microsystems SPARC, Solaris and other UNIX add-on products. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 70.25 Leading Software Developers Announce Support For Solaris x86 SunSoft, Inc. announced that its Solaris 2.4 software environment for x86/Pentium platforms continues to attract a full spectrum of application software solutions. The latest wave of commercial software companies supporting the Solaris x86 environment includes ACT Financial Systems, Banyan Systems, Inc., Computer Associates International, Gupta Corporation, IBM Corporation, Illustra Information Technologies, Market Vision, McDonnell Information Systems Group Plc (MDIS), SAS Institute, Software AG, Uniface International and XSoft (a division of Xerox), among others.
