Beginning in December of 1993, hardcopy publication of the STB will end, and the SunSolve CD-ROM will be the only place to view STB articles. The SunSolve tools, SearchTool and MultiView, will make browsing through the online STB library easier and quicker, as all past articles are now indexed and separated into individual documents. This article illustrates how SunSolve works and shows a sample search through the STB archives. ** System Administration "Online: DiskSuite 2.0 - Data Availability for Solaris 2.x" presents a series of articles on the new 2.0 release of Online: DiskSuite. The first article gives a brief technical description of the product. "Overview of Online: DiskSuite" is an excerpt from the administrator's guide, discussing the main features of the product in more detail, including the principal commands and utilities. Finally, "Online: DiskSuite 2.0 Questions & Answers" reprints the detailed answers to many questions that have arisen from customers and systems engineers. ** Programs "APPMAP Application Roadmap" introduces APPMAP, a tool which allows system administrators to build an ASCII table to control application startup. The goal of APPMAP is to simplify and centralize administration of applications in any UNIX environment, with a particular focus on environments which are migrating from Solaris 1.x to Solaris 2.x. APPMAP can make the complexity of starting different applications transparent to the end user, even when there are different application revisions for different systems running different operating systems, all requiring different paths, environment variables, and startup procedures. System administrators can simply edit a text file to control and change how applications are started.
