(NASDAQ;WALL) today announced that it has signed an OEM agreement with the SunSelect business unit of Sun Microsystems, Inc. Under the terms of the agreement, SunSelect will market RUMBA for PC-NFS, a version of Wall Data's Windows-based connectivity software designed specifically for PC-NFS users. "Wall Data's RUMBA software provides PC users easy access to data and applications residing on multiple hosts in enterprise-wide information system networks," said James Simpson, president and CEO of Wall Data. "Our relationship with SunSelect will give users of its market-leading open PC networking solution the same easy access to enterprise data and applications." "The rich set of features in RUMBA for PC-NFS provides a compelling mainframe connectivity solution and excellent value for our PC-NFS customers," said Dave Power, general manager of SunSelect. PC-NFS 5.0 is SunSelect's PC-to-enterprise networking software for integrating MS-DOS and Micrososft Windows users into open, multivendor environments. With over one million users, PC-NFS has captured 70 percent of the combined TCP/IP and NFS market and one-third of the total TCP/IP market for PC LANs. RUMBA software is Wall Data's award-winning PC-to-host connectivity solution for Microsoft Windows. RUMBA for PC-NFS is designed to give PC-NFS users access to IBM mainframes via TCP/IP. It gives users the ability to view, access and transfer host data and applications quickly and easily from Windows. RUMBA for PC-NFS joins other SunSelect enhancement products for PC-NFS, including SelectMAIL electronic mail and PC-NFS Programmer's Toolkit.
