The program allows prospective customers to evaluate any SunPro products for 30 days, free of charge, by obtaining a kit from their local authorized reseller. The Try and Buy Evaluation Kit is a ready-to-mail, CD-size unit incorporating all of SunPro's SPARCworks(tm) or ProWorks(tm) compilers and development tools on a single CD, complete with on-line AnswerBook(tm) documentation, product and installation information. With one phone call, fax, or electronic mail, customers can immediately begin using a fully-functional version of the software selected. If, after the 30-day trial period, the customer wishes to purchase the software, another phone call to an authorized SunPro reseller turns the 30-day evaluation software into a fully licensed product. "The Try and Buy Program allows our customers to easily evaluate all of SunPro's products," said Jay Bright, with the Sun Marketing Business Group of Access Graphics, a master distributor specializing in UNIX systems. "The kit encourages trial at no cost to the customer, and if the customer likes it, they call the salesperson to order it." "This new program complements our own strategy to deliver product quickly and easily to the customer," said Genelle Trader, Director of Marketing and Business Development for SunExpress, Sun's direct marketing subsidiary. "As a fulfillment piece, SunPro's Try and Buy Evaluation Kit allows SunExpress to respond to customer inquiries about SunPro products and also enables us to reach the repeat customer."
