Starting next week, computer and software companies will receive the Solaris for X86 software on a single compact disc (CD) with a suite of development tools and documentation. SunSoft also demonstrated the multiprocessing capabilities of Solaris 2.0 on a Compaq SYSTEMPRO Model 486-840 for the first time here today. The Solaris computing environment was shown on a range of PC systems including Dell Computer, AST Research, Zenith Data Systems and single and multiprocessor machines from Compaq Computer Corp.
