---------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Florida SunFlash SMCC INTRODUCES SPARCSTATION 10 MODEL 20 SunFLASH Vol 47 #29 November 1992 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- New Model Offers Attractive Upgrade Path MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. -- November 24, 1992 -- Responding to customer demand, Sun Microsystems Computer Corporation (SMCC) today announced the availability of the SPARCstation(TM) 10 Model 20 system. Originally offered as a promotional model in September 1992, the workstation now joins the powerful SPARCstation 10 desktop family. The new product offers customers a lower-priced entry point and an attractive upgrade path to even higher-performance models of the SPARCstation 10 family. In addition to the SPARCstation 10 Model 20 system, the SPARCstation 10 family includes the following models: Model 30, 41, 52 and 54. All models come bundled with the Solaris(R) distributed computing environment. The uniprocessor SPARCstation 10 Model 20 features a 33 MHz SuperSPARC(TM) processor and delivers 41 SPECint92 and 44 SPECfp92. The standard configuration includes 32 megabytes of memory (expandable to 512 megabytes), a 424-megabyte internal disk drive and GX graphics. Nineteen-inch grayscale, 19-inch color and 16-inch color monitor configurations are available. The price for a fully-configured grayscale system is $16,495. A SPARC(R) module upgrade to the SPARCstation 10 Model 41 system is $6,500. All configurations of the Model 20 are available immediately.
