---------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Florida SunFlash PEOPLESOFT ANNOUNCES SUPPORT FOR SUN'S SPARC/SOLARIS 2.1 PLATFORM SunFLASH Vol 47 #27 November 1992 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- PeopleSoft and Sun Enter Joint Marketing Development Agreement Walnut Creek, CA -- November 10, 1992 -- Peoplesoft, Inc., a provider of client/server human resource and financial software applications, today announced support for the SPARC/Solaris 2.1 platform from Sun Microsystems Computer Corp. (SMCC). PeopleSoft also announced that it has signed a joint marketing and development agreement with Sun, making it a member of Sun's Catalyst Program. PeopleSoft plans to port its popular client/server PS/HRMS(TM) human resource management system application to Sun's Solaris 2.1 operating system by the first quarter of 1993 and will run with all Sun systems under the ORACLE relational database. Currently PeopleSoft supports Sun's Solaris 1.0 operating systems. Under the terms of the joint marketing and development agreement, the two companies have committed to work closely together to co-market and sell PS/HRMS on Sun's platforms. Elements of the agreement include cooperative advertising, public relations, joint seminars, and direct mail. The two companies will also conduct joint application benchmarks on Sun's platforms. PeopleSoft and Sun are working together under Sun's Catalyst Program, which provides joint marketing opportunities and the exchange of information between Sun and its partners. According to Larry Hambly, vice president of marketing for SMCC, "PeopleSoft and its PS/HRMS application are very well known and respected especially in the application software community.
