  Boeing Selects SunConnect's SunNet Manager For LAN/Internet Environment

      Network Services Group Standardizes on SunNet Manager

Mountain View,  Calif. --- March 24, 1992 --- SunConnect, a Sun
Microsystems, Inc. business today announced that the Boeing Network
Services Support Group has standardized on SunNet Manager as the
platform for its LAN/Internet network management environment.

Boeing will use SunNet Manager nationwide to manage the Boeing
Internet/LAN environment which currently includes a wide range of
networking products from multiple vendors including routers, bridges,
gateways and concentrators.

"We needed a platform that could scale to our needs, as well as
integrate and manage a wide variety of networking products from
multiple vendors,"  said Dean Coons, Group Manager, Boeing Computer
Services Network Information Systems.  "SunNet Manager meets those
needs and provides us with additional flexibility through its open and
widely supported platform."

small to large networks and provide the flexibility to integrate new

of SunNet Manager is an excellent example of the momentum and

Boeing selected SunNet Manager after an extensive evaluation of
commercially available products.   Key factors in choosing SunNet
Manager included its open development platform, network-protocol
independence, as well as cost and availability.

SunNet Manager will be used to provide network management functions for
the integrated network environment, including performance management
and capacity planning functions.

SunNet Manager is a protocol-independent integrated platform for
heterogeneous network management, providing rich support for industry
standards such as SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol).   Based on
a distributed management architecture, SunNet Manager has a complete
set of diagnostic tools, management services, APIs, an open topology
map and a site license for SNMP agents.

Other SunConnect and third party products provide management and
support of key protocols in the DECnet, FDDI Station Management (SMT),
SNA and AppleTalk environments.   SunConnect also provides marketing
and engineering development support for qualified resellers, networking
vendors and software developers through the SunConnect Partners Program
for Network Management.   The program, designed to support and foster
the development of network management solutions, currently includes
