Offices in France and the U.K. Opened to Offer UNIX Integration, LAN/WAN 
Connectivity and Network Management Products Across Europe


Mountain View, Calif. - June 10, 1992 - SunConnect(TM), a Sun
Microsystems Inc. business, today announced an expansion of its
worldwide operations with the opening of two new offices in Europe. The
offices are located in France and the United Kingdom and will market
the full line of SunConnect UNIX(R) integration, LAN/WAN connectivity
and network management products throughout Europe.

SunConnect also announced the appointment of Laura Lilyquist, based in
France, as marketing manager for Europe, and Peter Holland, based in
the U.K., as sales manager for Europe.  SunConnect will open an office
in Germany by the end of calendar year 1992.

"Establishing operations here is strategically important to
SunConnect," said Denis Yaro, SunConnect's general manager.  "The
business currently earns about 30 percent of its revenue in the Western
European countries. In addition, many companies here have already
contacted us, wanting to work in partnership with SunConnect for the
development of network management solutions.  Having local offices
strengthens our position as a European business."


European Customers and Partners Among SunConnect's customers are some
of Europe's largest organizations, including Dassault Electronique
(France), National Power (U.K.), France Telecom and Finnish Telecom.
SunConnect products are also used in a wide range of European markets.

Supporting SunConnect's expansion into the European market are a number
of third-party development and distribution partners, including Arche
Communications and Graphael (France), Boole & Babbage and MicroMuse
(U.K.), and Dornier (Germany). These and other partners produce
solutions and services that complement or add value to SunConnect
products.

France Office SunConnect's French office is located just outside Paris
in the Velizy Villacoublay area. Ms. Lilyquist manages the operations
of this office, which handles marketing and market development for
SunConnect products across Europe.

U.K. Office Holland heads the new SunConnect office in the U.K. located
in the Camberly area.  He is responsible for the sales of SunConnect
products throughout the continent.
