To add a monitor, the customer will need to order a separate monitor option. - The SPARCclassic server is only available with Solaris 2.1 or later Solaris 2.x release. - The SPARCclassic server ships with a Single-System Solaris uniprocessor client license authorizing one user to run the latest Solaris 2.x release available when the system shipped. To license additional Solaris users on a SPARCclassic server, a Single-System Solaris Uniprocessor Unlimited User License is required. - NetWare SunLink networking on Solaris 2.x will be available at a later date. - NeWSprint(TM) spftware on Solaris 2.x is available at a later date. - SPARCclassic server comes standard with 10BaseT Ethernet. To get AUI Ethernet, customers can purchase a twisted pair to AUI converter from a third party or from SunExpress. QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS --------------------- Q: How does Solaris licensing work with the SPARCclassic Server? How do I upgrade to an unlimited Solaris license? How much does it cost? A: The SPARCclassic server ships with a single system Solaris uniprocessor client license, that authorizes one user on one uniprocessor system to run the latest Solaris 2.x release available when the system shipped. (Note: Customers licensed for Solaris 2.0 are also licensed for Solaris 2.1.) To authorize more than one user to run Solaris on a SPARCclassic server, a Solaris uniprocessor unlimited user license (SOLU-UN-L) must be ordered. The price is $1200/A. Q: How do I get a low cost monitor on my SPARCclassic server? A: The 15" SVGA monitor (X361) is the lowest priced monitor option for the SPARCclassic server. This monitor is only available on a SPARCclassic system. (no extra framebuffer is needed, since the framebuffer is built on the motherboard of the SPARCclassic) U.S. PRICING AND ORDERING INSTRUCTIONS -------------------------------------- THE FOLLOWING ITEMS APPEAR ON THE END USER PRICE LIST ONLY SPARCclassic server (Non-Discounted Catagory) Order List Discount Same Day Description Number Price Category Service Price -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SPARCclassic server ------------------- Server, 16-Mbyte, 1-Gbyte Internal SCSI Disk Quantity 1 4/15S-16-P46 $ 5,295 N/D $50 Quantity 12 4/15S-16-P46-12 $59,940 N/D $600 To order quantities in multiples of 12, use the "Quantity 12" order number.
