If you are planning to upgrade after January 1, 1993, we will offer a revised version of this course for you at that time. This course is designed for experienced SunOS 4.1.X System Administrators planning to upgrade to the Solaris 2.0 Operating Environment. The materials covered focus on the system administration differences between SunOS 4.1.X (as covered in the System Administration 4.1.X class) and the Solaris 2.0 (SMCC Version A) operating system. NOTE: This course is not appropriate for entry level or Junior System Administration professionals. This is a rigorous and thorough week of learning how to transition your Sun work environment from the SunOS 4.1.X operating system to the Solaris 2.0 computing environment. The course materials will change as the functionality and the features of the Solaris operating environment evolve in subsequent releases. Prerequisites: This course assumes that the student is familiar with all aspects of system administration in the SunOS 4.1.X operating system, as covered in the System Administration 4.1.X (SA-270) course, and has had at least six months of on-the-job experience as a SunOS system administrator or can demonstrate two years of UNIX system administration experience.
