		SUNEXPRESS UNVEILS NEW LOW U.S. PRICING
 
		    Outlines New Business Direction
 
LINCOLN, Mass. -- August 17, 1992 -- SunExpress, a business unit of Sun
Microsystems, Inc. unveiled dramatic price reductions across its entire
U.S. product line.  Effective today, the company's U.S. operation has
moved from list pricing to highly competitive non-discountable "street"
pricing, which is what customers typically pay for products from a
direct sales organization.  The new pricing is part of SunExpress' new
business direction, which is to focus on satisfying end user demand by
being the low-price, direct source for Sun(TM) and third-party customer
installable non-system products.  SunExpress has also broadened its
product set to include many leading third-party hardware and software
solutions.

The new prices and the 800 number channel are especially attractive to
end users who place small orders of less than $5,000 on a frequent
basis and require fast turnaround at competitive prices.

"Today's announcement marks an important juncture in the evolution of
our business and our long-term objectives," said Dorothy Terrell,

worldwide supplier of customer installable products for SPARC(R)

Expanded Product Set

The SunExpress product set includes more than 1,000 products from Sun
Microsystems, Inc. companies and from third-party suppliers.
SunExpress plans to continue its rapid product expansion in the months
to come.  While SunExpress does not sell Sun workstations, it does
offer a broad set of Sun related peripherals and software that are
typically manufacturer-supported and customer installable.

Products from all Sun companies are available through SunExpress,
including:
	Memory and storage Printers
	NeWSprint(TM) software
	SPARCworks(TM) software development products 
	PC-NFS(R) software
	PC emulation products
	NetWare(R) SunLink(R)
	SunNet(TM) Manager software 
	Solaris media, documentation and upgrades

Many third-party hardware and software solutions are also available
through SunExpress, such as Tadpole Technology's SPARCbook(TM), a
notebook computer that is fully compatible with SPARC systems.
Lotus(R) 1-2-3(R), WingZ(TM), FrameMaker(R) and WordPerfect(R) products
are among the other high-profile third-party products that SunExpress
has available.

Advanced Customer Service Through Leading Technology

SunExpress is committed to providing the highest-quality service
possible through innovative technology.  The company employs on-line
software with call tracking and advanced database technology.  Its
sales and technical support representatives go through intensive
