---------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Florida SunFlash SBus Developer List, July 20, 1992 SunFLASH Vol 44 #8 August 1992 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- The July 1992 SBus Developer List is also available in the SunFlash archive servers as a single compressed file e.g. on solar.nova.edu it is: 42948 pub/sunflash.1992/sbus-july.21.Z The next four articles are the 16 chapters of the SBus developer list group so that no article is greater that 32Kbytes. Thanks to Harold Sonenklar (Harold.Sonenklar@Corp.Sun.Com) for putting this list together. Note that there are embedded control-l (page feed) characters in these articles. If you remove the SunFlash headers and cat these 5 articles together, the result should print OK. -johnj ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- SBus has seen a tremendous spurt of development activity since the last SBus Developers List was published in January, 1992. With over 90 new SBus cards, there now total over 340 SBus cards available from 132 developers worldwide. One third of the developers are based outside the United States. SBus is following the computer industry in turning towards graphics and multimedia applications and workgroup connectivity. The greatest number of new SBus applications come in the graphics area. Networking and communications follows, with several new products enabling direct high- speed inter-machine connectivity. The greatest percentage increase in SBus applications occur in the digital signal processing/audio-voice-speech areas, with several applications directly related to telecommunications. A list of known SBus products available (or soon to be) is attached. This listing does not represent all SBus projects under development. It includes only those vendors who have authorized Sun to make their projects known. If you have product requirements different from what you see below, please forward those requirments to Harold Sonenklar with as much information as possible (customer contact, specific requirments, demand, etc.) Similarly, if you are aware of existing SBus products that you do not see on the list, or you are aware of SBus products under development, please forward any information you have so that I can maintain an accurate listing. Sun Microsystems Comptuer Corporation (SMCC) makes no recommendation as to the suitability of a product from a particular vendor for a given application. SMCC has not qualified or reviewed any claims made about the product features or functions, nor is SMCC responsible for their accuracy. No SBus vendor is authorized to act as an agent of SMCC or to commit SMCC in any way con- cerning SMCC products and their functionality, availability, or price.
