---------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Florida SunFlash SUG 1992 Call for Papers SunFLASH Vol 40 #21 April 1992 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: peter@sug.org (Peter Salus) Call For Papers SUN USER GROUP Tenth Annual Conference December 8-10, 1992 San Jose, California OPERATING SYSTEMS: SOLARIS 2.0/SVR4 and Alternatives The Sun User Group is pleased to announce its Tenth Annual Conference and Exhibit, which will address the current state of the Sun Operating System. Technical papers and presentations concerning both Solaris and alternates to it, as well as other topics of interest to the Sun/SPARC community, are invited. Manufacturers of computer equipment and software based on SPARC/SunOS technology are encouraged to participate with conference presentations, as well as in the associated exhibition which will be operated by Publications and Communications, Inc. Topics on which we are soliciting papers: Solaris 2.0: What's in it for You Solaris 2.0 on Intel Other OS for SPARC System Administration - beginning and advanced tools Printing and Multimedia Programming and Development Environments Suns in the Office and the Home Realtime and Non-Realtime Development and Research There will also be a Technical Product track. Vendors are invited to describe the compelling technical advantages of their products, with references to current and new material. Papers which merely profile a company's product are poorly received and therefore have little chance of being accepted for presentation. SUBMISSION GUIDELINES: Submissions should be in the form of extended abstracts (750 to 1000 words) and be sufficiently complete to allow the committee to understand and evaluate the submission. Abstracts should include: 1. Author name(s), postal and e-mail address(es), and telephone number(s). 2. Title of the paper 3. Presenter name(s), postal and e-mail address(es), and telephone number(s). 4. Time needed for presentation/questions (slots are available in lengths of 30, 45, 60, or 90 minutes) 5. Audio-visual equipment requirements. There will be a cash award for the best student paper. Be sure to indicate WITH YOUR SUBMISSION your student status. Authors whose submissions are accepted will receive instructions for the preparation of final papers. All presentations REQUIRE a paper submission for inclusion in the conference proceedings. One presenter for each paper accepted will receive free conference registration.
