---------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Florida SunFlash SUN MICROSYSTEMS TO OFFER SYNOPTICS NETWORK PRODUCTS SunFLASH Vol 33 #29 September 1991 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Agreement Delivers Expanded Network Services to Corporate Customers SANTA CLARA, Calif., Septmeber 30, 1991 -- In a joint announcement today, Sun Microsystems Computer Corporation (SMCC) said that it will incorporate network management and control systems, known as intelligent hubs, from SynOptics Communications, Inc., into its existing offerings of network services to customers in the U.S. The expanded offering from Sun will enable organizations to connect thousands of desktop users in the high-growth client-server computing environment. The addition of the SynOptics product line extends Sun's current network design, installation and consulting services. The agreement is part of Sun's Professional Services Strategic Partners Program and is designed to assist customers in reducing the complexity of network computing and meeting their needs for on-site support services. In addition, SynOptics will work with Sun to offer SynOptics customers software and hardware integration support for its networking products based upon Sun technology. This agreement continues the strong history of collaboration between Sun and SynOptics.
