To save time when first generating a screen or hardcopy chart, a simple image of the chart can be quickly drawn. DESCRIPTION: Q-ONE is a menu-driven, function-key-oriented word processor specifically designed to deliver power and flexibility without sacrificing ease of use. Features include: record processing for mass mailings; spelling corrector with an 80,000-word standard dictionary, plus optional legal and meditor; automatic hyphenation and pagination; footnoting; multicolumn capability; and powerful global search and replace capability. Special character attributes are available including bold, underline and overstrike. Features are presented in two styles of user interfaces. One is command key driven for expert users, and provides the ability to operate with a high level of productivity. A menu-driven interface is available for the occasional user. DESCRIPTION: Q-PLAN easy-to-use-and-learn, menu-driven spreadsheet supports a variety of video attributes and business graphics as well as variable width columns and multiwindowing. It allows the import and export of data from external programs. Q-PLAN's virtual memory architecture allows entry of data in all worksheet cells, creating worksheets thousands of rows and columns long. Data can be entered in the cells without running out of memory. Column widths can be specified from 1 to 127 characters. Rows and columns can be ``frozen'' while the remainder of the screen is scrolled or moved. Data from Q-PLAN can be used to produce graphics using Quadratron's graphics package, Q-GRAPH, or the Q-CHART charting package. Q-PLAN is terminal and printer independent, allowing the user to define almost any terminal and printer as input/output devices for the spreadsheet using Quadratron's proprietary termcap and printcap files. While providing word processing and spreadsheet capabilities, Uniplex DOS also incorporated a personal card index and screen builder. Besides these comprehensive applications, Uniplex DOS can interface to UNIX-based systems running Uniplex II Plus and the Uniplex Advanced Office System. Uniplex DOS is designed to provide Uniplex and UNIX-type functionality in a PC environment. Sun "engineering" workstations have traditionally been locked out of many of these markets. The GlobalView user profile is Xerox's traditional customer base of Fortune 1000 companies, 10+ worksta- tions, and orders exceeding $50K. GlobalView is a mature product that integrates text, graphics, and data into compound documents. The Xerox GUI, developed at the Xerox Palo Alto Research Center (PARC) in 1981, was made popular by Macintosh. GlobalView takes advantage of Xerox strengths like client-server architecture, multi-lingual support, and high speed/high quality output devices. By vir- tue of Xerox Network Services (XNS), Gts enterprise-wide communications. GlobalView offers a "portable desktop" which is network-based and gives users access to their personal desktops from workstations anywhere in the world. GlobalView "agents" are user-defined routines which can be created to automatically run repetitive tasks; numerous extensions to GlobalView agents were made possible by the port to Sun. The GlobalView "virtual key- board" provides on-screen access to multiple keyboard la multiple foreign language characters in the same work session. Xerox output devices can deliver up to 120 ppm and up to 600 dpi. GlobalView provides bi-directional access to Wang, IBM DCA, and Office Do- cument Architecture (ODA) documents. GlobalView offers an X Environment Window, which can be used to launch Sun's traditional third-party applica- tions. GlobalView Phase 2, expected in mid-1991, will bring advanced vertical solutions and more to the Sun platform.
