SMCC will begin shipping this release on December 16. Application developers are under increasing pressure to quickly deliver new products. OpenWindows Developer's Guide enables software engineers to graphically and interactively design, edit and test an OPEN LOOK user interface without writing a single line of code. Engineers are able to concentrate on their application code versus the user interface code. DevGuide 3.0 supports the XView, Olit and TNT toolkits allowing developers to choose the toolkit which best fits their needs. DevGuide 3.0 has incorporated many new features. Internationalization and localization of an application's GUI is significantly eased through use of DevGuide. A new graphical connection scheme, interface browser, project manager and object layout facility are also new in DevGuide 3.0. DevGuide also facilitates integration with the online help facility and the OPEN LOOK drag and drop feature. DevGuide is a key component to Sun's developer strategy. An OPEN LOOK GUI builder eases the porting burden for ISV and end user developers thus making the Sun platform more attractive to new applications.
