Sun Consulting in pleased to announce the availability of a new SCSI
driver for the SPARCstation 1. This new SCSI driver adds support for
both 1/2" SCSI tapes as well as 8mm Exabyte tape drives.

This driver conforms to Sun's new SCSA (Sun's Common SCSI Architecture)
standard, and will be upwardly compatible with the enhanced SCSI driver 
for the SPARCstation that will be released in SunOS 4.1. These devices
will be supported in the standard SPARCstation 1 SunOS 4.1 release.

The new driver has undergone light testing with our new 1/2" front load
tape drive and the M4 Data Systems 1/2" tape drive, as well as the
Exabyte unit. This driver is being released as a Sun Consulting
special on an as is basis. Additional support is available from Sun
Consulting at normal rates.

The part number for the new SPARCstation 1 SCSI driver is Consult-SS1TAPE.
