(SUNW), stated today that based on its prelim- inary review of the first quarter of fiscal 1990, ended Sep- tember 30, 1989, it expects revenues to exceed $530 million and that at this time the Company expects a small operating profit and, after net interest expense, roughly a break-even quarter. This compares with a net loss of $20.3 million on revenues of $431 million for its fourth quarter of fiscal 1989 ended June 30. The company stated that this expected improvement is due primarily to two factors: first, higher unit volumes of new products, and second, expense and headcount controls that have slowed expense growth compared with that experi- enced in recent quarters. Sun expects to release its first quarter earnings statement near the end of October.
