Aurora Technologies Announces Signing of exclusive marketing and development agreement for Lanier's 8-Port and 16-Port multiport products for the Sun386i Graphics Workstation. Boston MA, February 15, 1989 Aurora Technologies, Inc. announced that it has signed an exclusive marketing and development agreement with Harris Lanier Business Systems, for its multiport option cards, for the Sun386i Graphics Workstation. Aurora Technologies is delivering both products today under the names Multiport Model 800 and Multiport Model 1600. The Multiport Model 800 provides 8 serial ports for the Sun386i which allows users to connect terminals, printers, modems and other devices. The Multiport Model 1600 has a 16 port capacity. Both products use AT-bus compatible cards and come complete with the necessary SunOS UNIX device driver. "Lanier has been shipping this product since last summer and has over two hundred satisfied customers," says Bill Burke, Product Manager at Lanier, "and, Aurora Technologies' focus on the Sun Workstation add-on market will make sure that the users get the best possible vendor support." According to Dennis Daudelin, President of Aurora Technologies, "We are developing four product lines of Sun Add-on products: AT boards with SunOS device drivers, workstation peripherals, software and accessories. Our initial focus will be on the Sun386i."
