Although we tried to think of everything when we announced the new Education Marketing Programs, we missed a few things. So this message contains clarifications and updates on the new programs. Education Marketing Program Updates September 22, 1989 ------------------------------------ SunSET: ------- -Clarification of a 'packaged' system: SunSET offers: "A trade-up credit toward purchase of new PACKAGED configurations..." This refers to a diskFUL system, those models ending in "-Px", UNLESS: "unless a desktop accompanies a server on the SAME PURCHASE ORDER; then the desktop may be a non-packaged system, but must have at least 8mb of memory." -Policy on Upgrades: SunSET stipulates that: "Traded-up systems may not be resold or used in any other Sun promo for a 1 year period." CSD Upgrades are NOT considered a Sun promo, thus the customer MAY obtain SunSET trade-up credit, then upgrade the old system through CSD. -Revised SunSET Form Letter: Please have your customers submit the attached, REVISED SunSET letter when using this promotion (ATTACHMENT 1). The attached letter supercedes the previous version, PLEASE DESTROY THE PREVIOUS VERSION. ************************************************************************** ATTACHMENT 1: SunSET Form Letter =========================================================================== SunSET FORM LETTER ---------- SAMPLE ------------ (Date) (Contact name) (University name) (Department) (Address) Dear (Sun Sales Representative): On behalf of the (Department) of the (University), I hereby request authorization to purchase new Sun equipment under the SunSET Trade-Up Program.
