Any other special or non-generic installation instructions should be described below as special instructions. Special Instructions -------------------- *For BugId: 4848104 only* Steps for managing CST data in alternate boot environment/ Live upgrade ------------------------------------------------------------------------ When CST is used in an environment where more than one disk is used to boot the OS, then please do the following steps: 1) Stop the cst process on the agent using: /etc/init.d/cst stop 2) Edit /var/opt/SUNWcst/cst.conf to create a new line: ALT_TSDIRPATH<\t>A_Directory_Path In this line, A_Directory_Path should be a local disk(ufs) which is mounted universally on the same mount point across alternate boot environment. This serves as an invariant reference point for CST to record correct outage data. Note: The filesystem on which the alternate timestamp is written should not be the root filesystem of the current boot environment and should be present "as is" in the new boot environment. This mount point should be specified in /etc/vfstab on both boot drive. Using /etc/auto_direct is not recommended. 3) Start cst using: /etc/init.d/cst start These steps ensure that CST tracks the availability across alternate boot disks and/or live upgrade properly.
