Any other special or non-generic installation instructions should be described below as special instructions. Special Install Instructions: ----------------------------- Stop the Sun Cluster software on this node before applying this patch. Apply this patch to this node and then restart the Sun Cluster software after patch installation o login as root, then run the command: # scadmin stopnode o apply the patch as usual o restart the cluster on this node # scadmin startnode NOTE 1: HOW TO INSTALL THE SUN CLUSTER MANAGER APPLICATION 1. Install this patch on all SC 2.2 cluster nodes. Refer to the Install.info file within the patch for instructions on using the generic 'installpatch' and 'backoutpatch' scripts provided with each patch. 2. Run the SC Manager application. Refer to the manpage for complete instructions on running SC Manager: # man scmgr SC Manager uses the HotJava browser to display the online help. You can specify a different browser to view the online help in the SCM application by typing the following: scmgr [ -b browser-cmd ] [ node ] Specify the browser name and any browser-specific options, for example, "netscape -remote". Note: If you want to run the SCM application from a non-cluster node, make sure you have already installed the SUNWscmgr package from the SC 2.2 FCS CD before applying this patch. Determine if the SUNWscmgr package exists. For example: # pkginfo SUNWscmgr If the package does not exist, add it. For example: # pkgadd -d /cdrom/suncluster_sc_2_2/Sun_Cluster_2_2/Sol_2.X/Product SUNWscmgr Sol_2.X is your OS version. BUGS 4207726 SCmanager does not detect the loss of a public net 4208089 SCmanager does not show the correct "current status" for Oracle Data service 4212623 SCmanager displays incorrect private net info when node is removed from cluster SC MANAGER APPLICATION This patch includes the SC Manager application that can be installed and run on your system. This removes the requirement of installing JDK and HotJava. It provides a single interface to many of Sun Cluster's command line monitoring features. The SC Manager application reports information on: * SC Manager-monitored alarms * syslog messages on each cluster node * cluster resources, including parallel data services, logical hosts, registered HA services, cluster nodes, and volume manager types When you see the Cluster page, you can then go directly to the Property Resource page by double-clicking the cluster icon. SC MANAGER ONLINE HELP Once the SC Manager application is running you can access the online help for information on menu navigation, tasks, and reference. To display the Help window from the SC Manager application, select Help Contents from the Help menu. Alternatively, click on the Help icon (question mark) in the tool bar above the folder. The information in the online help about how to run the applet in the online help does not apply to this patch. Use the information in these notes instead. NOTE 2: To get the complete fix for files insecurely writing to /tmp, one needs to install the following patches (or newer): 109208-12 Sun Cluster 2.2: Framework Patch 109211-07 Sun Cluster 2.2: Comm Patch 107996-12 Sun Cluster 2.2: HA-Oracle Patch 108423-04 Sun Cluster 2.2: Data Service Common Patch 108511-03 Sun Cluster 2.2: HA-Sybase Patch 108351-04 Sun Cluster 2.2: HA-SAP Patch 111131-01 Sun Cluster 2.2: HA-Informix Patch 108505-05 Sun Cluster 2.2: Internet Pro Patch 108034-02 Sun Cluster 2.2: HA-Tivoli Patch 108447-04 Sun Cluster 2.2: HA-Lotus Patch Patch Backout: ------------- Before backing out the patch, make sure the cluster software is stopped on the node: o login as root, then run the command: # scadmin stopnode o Remove the patch as usual.
