The new specification is dated February 14, 1994 and obsoletes the specification which was dated June 25, 1993. The NFS Version 3 protocol has changed slightly, so be aware of changes between the two specifications. These changes were mostly to the WRITE procedure. Unfortunately, the specification has changed so extensively, that change bars in the document were not useful. This document contains descriptions of the NFS Version 3 protocol, the MOUNT Version 3 protocol, and the NLM Version 4 protocol. The NLM Version 4 protocol is described as changes between version 4 and older NLM versions.
