Under the terms of the agreement, ILX has ported its ILX Workstation market data software to Sun systems running the Solaris 2 operating environment and has become an authorized SMCC reseller. In addition, the two companies will cooperatively market ILX software on Sun systems to brokers, traders and asset managers throughout the financial services industry. (95 lines) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ILX AND SUN PARTNER TO PROVIDE MARKET DATA SOLUTIONS FOR RETAIL BROKERAGE FIRMS The agreement, which brings together one of the fastest-growing market data companies with the number-one provider of UNIX systems to the financial services industry, will make ILX Workstation available for the first time to users of UNIX desktop computers. Retail brokers will now be able to run ILX software on multitasking Sun workstations, such as the SPARCstation 5 system, which offers robust multimedia capabilities and support for a wide range of industry-standard applications. "We can now offer our customers in the securities and banking industries a very powerful solution that combines ILX functionality with the performance, networking and flexibility of Sun systems," said Bernard A. ILX Workstation provides "one-stop shopping" for all financial information requirements, supporting ticker and page-oriented financial data from several sources. Services, features and functions may be customized by the user. Implemented in "native mode" for the Solaris environment, ILX Workstation will support industry-standard software for office automation and decision support available for Sun systems, including word processing, spreadsheets, electronic mail and portfolio management. The recently introduced ILX Workstation Release 6.0 provides added functionality, including advanced charting, powerful options analytics, sophisticated news management features and enhanced navigation capabilities. Other new features include ILX Anywhere for remote dial-in capabilities. With ILX Anywhere, users can access ILX market data systems from remote locations and customers sites through modem connections on desktop and nomadic systems, such as the SPARCstation Voyager "nomadic" computer.
