(161 lines) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- SUNSOFT COMPLETES SOFTWARE REORGANIZATION Establishes One Integrated Software Organization for Sun MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. -- July 11, 1994 -- SunSoft, Inc. today announced that it has completed its reorganization, which was announced in April. SunConnect, SunPro, SunSolutions and SunSelect, formerly part of SunTechnology Enterprises, have been integrated into SunSoft, which is now a single software company delivering solutions for enterprise rightsizing and network computing. As the single software entity within Sun Microsystems, Inc., the new SunSoft organization is well-equipped to deliver high-quality, integrated rightsizing solutions to customers, respond quickly to market demands and requirements, and work more closely with customers and partners on all SunSoft products. SunSoft will focus on the following product areas: the Solaris platform -- on SPARC, x86/Pentium and PowerPC; networking and PC connectivity; system administration and network management; development tools; and UNIX/PC applications technology. In addition, the company will continue to invest in emerging software technologies, including distributed object technology and Internet services.
