The new SunLink products, all of which support the Solaris(R) 2.x, operating environment, are: * SunLink SNA 3270/RJE 8.0 emulates an IBM(R) cluster controller and provides interactive mainframe access to any system on a Sun(tm) network or internetwork. SunLink SNA 3270/RJE supports 250+ sessions emulating 3278 terminals, 3278 printers, or TN3270 client users on non-Sun equipment. SunLink SNA 3270/RJE 8.0 also provides 3770/RJE emulation for bulk data transfer. SunLink SNA 3270/RJE 8.0, which is Solaris 2.x compatible, is not a replacement for SunLink SNA 7.0, which is Solaris 1.x compatible. Both products will be carried by SMCC. * SunLink BSC 3270 Gateway 8.0 emulates up to 32 sessions of 3278 terminals, 3278 printers, or TN3270 client users on non-Sun equipment. SunLink BSC 3270 8.0, which is Solaris 2.x compatible, is not a replacement for SunLink BSC 3270 6.1, which is Solaris 1.x compatible. Both products will be carried by SMCC. * Client 3270 8.0 communicates to either a SunLink gateway or a mainframe system using TCP/IP. 3278 terminal emulation (models 2-5), 3278 printer emulation, the HLLAPI API, tn3270 connectivity, and double-byte support for Korea and Taiwan are included. Requires SunLink SNA 3270 (7.X or 8.X), SunLink BSC 3270 (6.1 or 8.X), or SunLink Local 3270 6.1 as a prerequisite. * SunLink SNA Peer-to-Peer Gateway 8.0 is an application programming interface (API) for IBM's LU6.2/APPC SNA distributed processing specification. SunLink SNA Peer-to-Peer Gateway 8.0 also includes support for IBM's NetView and CPI-C API. SunLink SNA Peer-to-Peer Gateway 8.0, which is Solaris 2.x compatible, is not a replacement for SunLink Peer-to-Peer Gateway 7.0, which is Solaris 1.x compatible. Both products will be carried by SMCC. * SunLink SNA Peer-to-Peer Runtime 8.0 Environment for SNA Peer-to-Peer includes the APPC gateway and NetView connectivity. No development libraries of any kind are supplied. This product permits customers just requiring NetView connectivity, or execution of 3rd party applications that use SNA Peer-to-Peer for a transport, a cost-effective alternative to purchasing the entire development environment. * SunLink DNI 8.0 enables Sun systems to be integrated in DECnet environments running DECnet Phase IV protocol. SunLink DNI 8.0, which is Solaris 2.x compatible, is not a replacement for SunLink DNI 7.0, which is Solaris 1.x compatible. Both products will be carried by SMCC. * SunLink TE320 8.0 provides X-based DEC(R) VT320 color terminal emulation, allowing a Sun system to access DEC host based applications. SunLink TE320 8.0, which is Solaris 2.x compatible, is not a replacement for SunLink TE320 7.0, which is Solaris 1.x compatible. Both products will be carried by SMCC.
