SunLink PPP 1.0 expands the Sun(R) Wide Area Networking offerings to include an industry standard point-to-point product. While adhering to the Internet PPP standard, SunLink PPP provides cost effective communication between Local Area Networks and remote sites at speeds up to 2.048 Mbps. SunLink PPP can interface to other Sun systems running SunLink PPP as well as interoperate with other vendor's systems running the Internet Standard Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP). PPP is also able to act as a routing gateway between Local Area Networks. This product supports synchronous communication only. User doesn't have to invest in a separate router. o Supports Manually Dialed, Leased and SunLink PPP can support T1 subchannel transmission facilities whatever transmission facilities the user currently has in place. o Supports load sharing between Sun systems Key differentiator from other Point-to-Point products currently available.
