Verity, Inc., a Sun Catalyst partner, has announced TOPIC Real-Time,  a  text
retrieval  product which connects to any dynamic information source such as a
newswire, intelligence feed, or electronic mail system.  Simultaneously, Ver-
ity  announced  that  they have entered into a joint marketing agreement with
Dow Jones& Co. to provide Sun customers access to DowVision, a new  composite
business news and information service.

TOPIC Real-Time is a breakthrough in text  understanding  software  that  can
intelligently  profile and selectively route to every user in a computer net-
work the on-line information relevant to each user's business  interest  pro-
file  from   live  data  sources  such as newswires, E-mail, and intelligence
feeds.  TOPIC Real-Time  refines information and turns an organization's com-
puter into a "knowledge agent" that continually monitors and filters
news and information  with accuracy up to three times  that  of  any  other
system.

Typical application areas include: financial portfolio  management  and  risk
assessment,  military  intelligence  message  handling,  product  liability
monitoring, competitive information gathering, etc.

Additionally, Verity recently announced a joint marketing agreement with  Dow
Jones  & Co. for TOPIC Real-Time.  As a Dow Jones Alliance partner, Verity is
an authorized reseller of DowVision, a new business information service  from
Dow Jones which incorporates information from the Broadtape, Capital Mark-
ets Report Professional Investor Report, Dow  Jones  International  Services,
Federal Filings,PRNewswire, and Business Wire, In the near future, Dow Vision
will include  interactive  access  to  more  than  55  other  Dow  Jones
news/Retrieval databases.

The DowVision feed is immedialtely available on  the  entire  family  of  Sun
platforms.
