The SPARC subjects, SunOS subjects, and other sections follow the STB Editor's Introduction. This new order is for the convenience of STB readers wanting to see the new articles first. SPARC Subjects: the SPARCstation IPC Product Announcement This month's SPARC subjects include a product announcement and software details on the SPARCstation IPC. Additional articles on hardware and options appear in the Hardware, Configurations, & Sales section. SunOS Subjects: SunOS Network Security This month's SunOS Subjects sections features a technical paper on SunOS network security. The paper presents an authentication system that greatly improves the security of Sun's network environment. The system uses DES encryption and publickey cryptography to authenticate both users and machines in the network. Configurations: Current Sun Software Products and Release Level Tables The seven tables showing current Sun software product release levels appear monthly. These tables show release levels for operating systems, communications products, unbundled languages, unbundled applications, unbundled graphics, other products, and TOPS networking products. The tables in this issue are updated through July 27, 1990. World Hotlines For Sun customers world-wide served by your local service groups, use the customer service telephone numbers listed in this monthly item. Also, look to this section during the upcoming year for details on your local support call policies and procedures. Reporting Bugs World-Wide A list of Sun service centers, addresses, email hotlines, and telephone hotlines appears. The information in this monthly note continues to be expanded as Sun software service centers are added world-wide. STB Subscriptions and Duplication This notice is published monthly, giving customers useful information regarding ordering multiple STB hardcopy subscriptions, and duplicating additional STB copies from a single `master' copy.
