Sun customers can begin to order the "Porting Reference Guide for Sun
Workstations" starting today.

This popular document will help vendors and customers get their products
running on Sun workstations.  Orders can be placed with the Sun Telemarketing
group.  See the order instructions provided below.


What is the Porting Reference Guide?
------------------------------------
The Porting Reference Guide presents a technical overview to porting
software and hardware to the Sun across our entire product line. Its
main purpose is to explain the porting strategy, give direction to
future products, and point to the specific documents which would give
more detailed information on the subject.  As such, the Porting
Reference Guide is an excellent document to start customers, OEMs,
and vendors off understanding the global advantage to porting to the
Sun platform.
 
It was created by an inter-divisional team interested in relating the
various products and porting strategies into one consise document.
Since technologies change quickly, the Porting Reference Guide will
be updated every six months. The first issue is November, 1988 and
the document is owned by Marketing Technical Support.
 
 
Ordering Instructions
---------------------
Customers can order the Porting Guide from the Sun Telemarketing group by
calling 1-800-USA-4SUN (prompt 6) or work directly with you and you can submit
a sales order.
 
Customers should provide the following order number when placing their order.
When using Telemarketing, they should be prepared to give the Telemarketing
Representative a hard copy Purchase Order (a fax copy is sufficient) because
it is required before the order can be placed.
