The problem manifests itself by issuing "ICON Chip failure" messages (sometimes seen as ASC=03/ASCQ=00 codes in the /var/adm/messages file). In addition, the RAID Array Monitor daemon is being updated with a version that corrects a problem with failovers not happening correctly on multi-RSM Array 2000 configurations. Patch Installation Instructions: -------------------------------- Refer to the Install.info file for instructions on using the generic 'installpatch' and 'backoutpatch' scripts provided with each patch. Any other special or non-generic installation instructions should be described below as special instructions. Special Install Instructions: ----------------------------- Firmware Update: Once the firmware file is loaded on the host system, the user must manually update the firmware on both RSM Array 2000 controllers found on each subsystem. This process involves using the RAID Manager application (started by running /usr/lib/osa/bin/rm6). When prompted for the name of the firmware file to use for the controller download, the following firmware file should be specified: ap02041D.dl This file will be found in /usr/lib/osa/fw after this patch is been installed. For further details on updating Sun RSM Array 2000 controller firmware Refer to the RAID Manager User's Guide. Array Monitor Daemon Update: Once this patch has been installed, the 'arraymon' daemon will need to be stopped and restarted. This is accomplished automatically by the patch installation scripts. Updating the firmware as described above is left as a manual operation.
