From oneill@cs.uml.edu Tue Nov 8 18:51:49 1994 From: oneill@cs.uml.edu (Brian 'Doc' O'Neill) Newsgroups: comp.archives.msdos.announce,comp.sys.ibm.pc.games.misc Subject: Major changes to PC Games Archives on ftp.uml.edu Followup-To: comp.archives.msdos.d Date: 7 Nov 1994 14:34:29 GMT Organization: University of Massachusetts at Lowell Computer Science Distribution: world NNTP-Posting-Host: cs.uml.edu Originator: oneill@cs.uml.edu The is an announcement regarding the PC Games Archives, originally located on ftp.uml.edu and mirrored on several locations around the world. As of last week, the PCGA is now a JOINT archive between ftp.uml.edu and ftp.uwp.edu. The "Official Distributions", such as Apogee, Epic, and Game_Bytes, will be maintained at ftp.uml.edu as always. All other sections are now maintained at ftp.uwp.edu by Nathan Pieper. Each site mirrors the other, so within about 24 hours both sites are identical with regards to new files. Uploads of new files should go to ftp.uwp.edu, NOT ftp.uml.edu. Mirrors can maintain mirroring at ftp.uml.edu, but you must pick up both /msdos/games and /msdos/games_uwp directories for the full set. Attached is the full README file explaining the new archives. { Please note: information contained herein may change without notice } Date of last change: 28-Oct-1994 The PC Games Archives Site name: ftp.uwp.edu ftp.uml.edu IP Address: 131.210.1.4 129.63.10.50 Directory: /pub/msdos/games /msdos/games Access: anonymous ftp anonymous ftp The PCGA is an unfunded, unsanctioned service to provide a central repository for the PC Gaming community.
