The cover is right off a tabloid, touting such headlines as "Boy's Soul Sucked Into Fax Modem", and of course the obligatory "Aliens Use Internet To Speak to Chosen Few". Inside, you'll find topics which range >from very strange to even stranger. There are serious stories too. In short, the essence of the net has been captured in book form. "Internet Insider" is not a reference book or a list of "cool" places to visit. It is more like a snapshot of the Internet on a typical day. This book is a perfect introduction for someone who has not quite decided to buy that modem, but is curious about what is online. I left my copy in the office lunchroom and have only caught glimpses of it being passed from desk to desk. I have a few years of internet access under my belt, and I found "Internet Insider" to be a real fun book to read. It is published by Osborne-McGraw Hill and written by Ruffin Prevost. MES
