This is a programming guide to the X windowing system.  The language used is C,
with the Xlib, Xutil, and Intrinsic libraries (given in Appendices A to C). 
Interface-specific examples use Motif.
 
The book starts with a chapter on background, and another presenting the usual
"Hello World" program (in X, this takes two pages), followed by basic jargon. 
Chapters four and five cover windowing and toolkit concepts and techniques. 
Text, keyboard, mouse, bit map, and colour handling form chapters six through
ten.  Chapter eleven looks at the application as a whole, and advanced
concepts.
