Originally from the funny@looking.on.ca account, later from his own ClariNet organization, and currently operating with a different moderator, rec.humor.funny has been reposting a select two of the hundreds of submissions received each day since 1987. While debate is fierce over the absolute merit of r.h.f. traffic, the fact remains that it briefly held top spot on Usenet and, despite dozens of mailing lists with potentially greater access, it is still *the* humour source on the net. An r.h.f. joke book has been published annually, and this collection is compiled from the first four. For anyone who has been on the net for a while, much of the material will be familiar. Still, it is like meeting old friends-- this is the best of the best, as it were. copyright Robert M.
