I found the book amusing and somewhat entertaining as it stretched the two concepts to the point of comedy. I rarely use either, prefering to utilize words to express myself, but since both acronyms (a long-time government and military favorite) and emoticons are a standard fixture on the on-line world, I guess a couple of books on the subject are appropriate. There's even a section on cute on-line signatures. This book priced at $5.95 would make a cute litle gift for someone new to the on-line world. Many of the more serious Internet "how-to" books have acronym and emoticon glossaries, but not as comprehensive as NET.TALK. (C) 1994 Michael Crestohl mc@shore.net
