REVIEW: THE INTERNET BUSINESS GUIDE, Resnick & Taylor  SAMS Publishing 1994

Here's another guide on how to make money on the Internet.  It appears to
have been produced for the businessperson with no net knowledge or
experience.  THE INTERNET BUSINESS GUIDE contains complete information on
how to get access (and how to get the best deal on it as well!) and includes
a directory of service providers to boot!  

Once "on the net" what do you do?  A chapter called "Marketing Dos and Don'ts" 
will tell you exactly what is acceptable and what is not.  Other subjects
covered include net security, encryption, passwords, searching for information
and data, electronic mail, and USENET news/discussion groups.  In other
words, the "nuts and bolts" of internet usage and participation.

Of specific "hands-on" interest are chapters dealing with ways to use your
network access to promote and run your business, such as providing customer
support and using a World Wide Web "home page" to advertise your goods and
services to a world-wide market.   

THE INTERNET BUSINESS GUIDE contains more than just instructions on how
to do different things - included are actual case studies of other businesses
and organizations who are successfully using the Internet within acceptable
standards of net conduct to further their aims and goals.

I found THE INTERNET BUSINESS GUIDE to be well written and researched.  The
case studies were particularly informative and useful.  There's a lot of
good solid information in these 400+ pages!
