Evolutionary Genetics John Maynard Smith Oxford University Press 1989 pp. 325 [ evolutionary biology, genetics ] A very readable introduction to all the aspects of genetics that are relevant to an understanding of evolution. Detailed mathematical models are omitted in favour of biologically interesting ideas. There are exercises at the end of each chapter (including computer projects). This is the book I would suggest for any physicists/mathematicians who wanted something more than popular accounts of evolutionary theory.
