If you are familiar with SCO UNIX, it would probably be faster to use this guide than to search through pages of man references. Part one introduces the Open Desktop GUI, while two gives an alphabetical summary of commands (complete with most options). Part three compares the Bourne, Korn, C and SCO shells. Part four, on text editing, covers pattern matching, emacs, vi, ex sed and awk. Part five talks about software development commands. Part six ends up with administrative material. Strangely silent is any mention of the communications and networking functions (other than in the alphabetical summary). The preface specifically states that this is not an introductory tutorial, but for most other users of UNIX this should be a valuable and handy guide. copyright Robert M.
