REVIEW: CD-ROM - KGB/CIA WORLD FACTBOOK Compton's NewMedia 1993 I always found the CIA World Factbook, available on-line, to have a most interesting title. This world factbook has an even more fascinating name. To be sure, every spy agency has its well-researched reference materials to the countries of the world containing everything a wel-informed secret agent would need to do his or her work. This is a serious reference work that provides instant access to information on over 250 of the world's countries and their possessions. The KGB/CIA WORLD FACTBOOK provides maps, interesting information on governmental, political, geographic and economic statistics, currency conversions (although these are constantly changing), industry, trade, treaties, drug traffic statistics, and diplomatic protocol. Its more than a world atlas - but indeed a world factbook that will answer just about any question you may have about a given country or territory. The KGB/CIA WORLD FACTBOOK is published using M.O.S.T. (multiple operating system technology) which means it will run on MD-DOS, Windows and the SONY Multimedia CD-ROM player. It will run satisfactorily on any PC equipped with a CD-ROm drive but works best with a 386 or better under Windows and a 256 color SVGA monitor. Now you too can have access to the research facilities of those secret "three letter" government agencies.....and besides, think how impressive the source title will look in the bibliography on your next research project! %T KGB/CIA World Factbook %I Compton's NewMedia %C Carlsbad California %D 1993 %O CD-ROM $39.95 %G ISBN:0-922555-31-1 %K maps, countries, political data (C) 1995 Michael Crestohl Nahant Massachusetts USA mc@shore.net DISCLAIMER: I have no interest, financial or otherwise, in the success or failure of the book or materials reviewed herewith, nor have I received any compensation (other than a review copy requested by me) from anyone who has.
